The header’s picture shows a group of Iranian women from the city of Shiraz sometime in the early 1930s. They are in a government-organized mandatory “Hijab-removal-party”. The picture here is part of a larger photograh by Fathollāh Chehrenegār, a local photographer from Shiraz. More pictures by him can be found in the book “Be Yāde Shirāz”, a collection of Mirza Hassan and Fathollāh Chehrenegār’s photographs compiled and organized by Mansoor Sane’.
